Guarding your fetcher

First off, this post is long overdue, I sincerely apologize.  I promised to write a follow up post on “don’t touch my fetcher”. Click on this link to read if you haven’t seen it yet https://veekhythinks.wordpress.com/2017/04/09/dont-touch-my-fetcher/  .

I read that post again and got so excited all over again. See, “with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.”
So wait, God is my salvation and He is deep, as in just close your eyes and picture an endless well, yea, that deep, okay come back.  So in order for me to access all the benefits and goodies inside God (the deep well), i need a fetcher, which is joy. Chai! Joy is my fetcher!”

Do you see what I see? I never saw it like this before…fine, I have read and heard statements like: “In the presence of God, there’s fullness of joy” and many others but i didn’t really see why joy was so key.

As in why God is so concerned that we should be full of joy, why  joy is a fruit of the spirit and all of that. Hmm. I am so glad that I now see the importance of my fetcher (joy) and even super glad that I am sharing this with you (because I love you).

So, if like me, you’ve been brooding on the question, how do I stay on a constant high? How do i remain full of joy? How do i guard my fetcher? Then pay attention and keep an open mind to what you are about to read.

Let’s do this.

Can we please remember on purpose?
You know it’s almost like we get so excited in the euphoria of the moment when God does something for us and with the same wave of excitement, amnesia comes making us forget the past testimonies the next time a wind rocks our boat.

The funny thing is this, most times, the present storm threatening to steal our joy is nothing compared to the past victories but because we fail to remember…boom…our fetcher gets missing. I have learnt and am still learning to look back “on purpose” and like David encourage myself in the Lord.

Look back! Look back! Look back! The disciples were in the boat without Jesus and there was a crazy storm. Is it that they didn’t remember that Jesus had once been with them in a boat and simply spoke to the storm “peace be still”. Why didn’t they also look back at the miracle of feeding 5 thousand people that had just taken place some hours back. Ahan, can we just look back already!

Here is what I know, God didn’t bring me this far to just bring me this far. He didn’t rescue me from accidents and sicknesses to abandon me in the middle of the sea to drown. Ka!!
When I think of this fact, I get so joyful.

“Remember on purpose” and watch your joy remain unmovable.

Have you ever heard of a day dream? Yes! okay, It’s time to turn on the TV of your mind.” Hmm, which one is tv of mind again? Calm down.

This is what I mean.
Pick up God’s promises to you and play them out in your mind. Close your eyes and see those words He spoke to you in 3D pictures. See yourself walking on the water and already living that reality and watch your fetcher slide away from the visibility of the enemy. Walk around like those promises have already manifested.

One more thing, wait for it!

“Keep your mind stayed on God”.
I realised that one way to know a life that is full of joy is “peace”.

It is not possible to be joyfull and worried at the same time, no now. You know there is a kind of peace that cannot be explained, streams of peace. If you’ve ever been to a water fall or sat by water to think, you’ll totally relate with that calm serenity. I like to call that peace.

I read in my Bible that ” Thou will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Him”. That means I can get this peace by keeping my mind stayed on God, see once I have peace, my joy can’t be stolen. Ka and to get peace, I need to keep mind stayed on God.

I just have to keep feeding my mind with God’s goodness and God’s word and love and His awesomeness…who born the devil that wants to come and steal my fetcher, he dey fear face too.

After all said, I know that this has blessed someone, if it’s you, make sure you share with someone else.

Let us guard our fetcher this week by intentionally remembering, emboldening God’s promises in the TV of our mind and keeping our minds stayed on God.

I love you and there’s nothing you can do about it. See you next week!
